Mount SSHFS on Windows – GUI Step-by-Step

What is SSHFS?

SSHFS (SSH Filesystem) is a network file system that mounts remote folders as a local drive over an SSH connection. On Windows it requires WinFsp and SSHFS-Win. All file access is transferred encrypted.

1. Install prerequisites

Install WinFsp first and SSHFS-Win second. Both components are required for stable SSHFS mounts.

2. Create a connection profile

Set host, port, username, remote path, and authentication method. Enable auto-reconnect if needed.

3. Run one-click mount

A single click mounts the remote path as a Windows drive letter visible in File Explorer.

4. Troubleshoot common issues

SSHFS-Win not found → verify installation and restart.
Authentication failed → check password/key/certificate.
Drive letter conflict → choose a free letter or use automatic assignment.

Mount SSHFS on Windows — quick guide

Download and install WinFsp
Download and install SSHFS-Win
Download NEO SSH-Win Manager (portable or via installer) and launch it
Create an SSH connection in NEO SSH-Win Manager
Click “Mount” — the drive appears in File Explorer
